Getting Started
1. Install a Solana Wallet
Before you can trade on Social Parlay, you'll need a Solana wallet. We recommend:
- Phantom - Most popular, easy to use (phantom.app)
- Solflare - Feature-rich with staking support (solflare.com)
- Backpack - Modern interface (backpack.app)
Download the browser extension or mobile app for your chosen wallet and create an account. Make sure to securely save your recovery phrase!
2. Fund Your Wallet
You'll need SOL (Solana's native token) to:
- Pay transaction fees (very low, typically $0.00025 per transaction)
- Trade prediction market positions
You can purchase SOL from cryptocurrency exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, or Binance, then transfer it to your wallet address.
3. Connect to Social Parlay
Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top right corner of the site. Select your wallet provider and approve the connection request. You'll never be asked for your private keys or recovery phrase.
4. Browse Tournaments
Navigate to the Tournaments page to see all active and upcoming golf tournaments. Each tournament shows the available prediction markets you can trade.
Trading Basics
Understanding Markets
Each tournament offers prediction markets where you can trade on outcomes:
- Outright Winner - Predict who will win the tournament
- Top 5/10 Finish - Trade on players finishing in top positions
- Head-to-Head - Compare two players' performance
Buying Positions
When you buy a position, you're purchasing shares that represent your prediction. The price reflects the market's consensus probability of that outcome.
- Lower price = Lower probability = Higher potential return
- Higher price = Higher probability = Lower potential return
- Prices update in real-time based on trading activity
Selling Positions
You can sell your positions at any time before the market closes:
- Lock in profits if the odds move in your favor
- Cut losses if your prediction seems unlikely
- Rebalance your portfolio based on new information
Settlement
After the tournament concludes:
- Winning positions receive payouts automatically
- Losing positions expire worthless
- Funds are sent directly to your wallet
- All settlements are verifiable on-chain
Wallet Management
Security Best Practices
- Never share your private keys or recovery phrase
- Always verify transaction details before approving
- Only connect to trusted websites (check the URL)
- Use a hardware wallet for large amounts
- Keep your wallet software updated
Managing Funds
Your funds are always in your wallet, never held by Social Parlay:
- Deposits move SOL from your wallet to your trading account
- Withdrawals move funds back to your wallet anytime
- Active positions are represented as tokens in your wallet
- You maintain full custody of your assets
Transaction Fees
All transactions on Solana require a small network fee:
- Typical fee: 0.000005 SOL (~$0.00025)
- Fees go to network validators, not Social Parlay
- Platform fee: 2% on winning positions
